AIMS:

  • To facilitate students’ participation in decision making in areas related to environment & development and to make understand the environment and related problems.

RULES/NORMS:

  • Each Eco-club shall consist of 25-30 members. These members are selected among the students of the concerned college who show interest in environment related issues jointly by the Faculties and the Head of the Institution.
  • One of the Eco-Club members (Student) may be designated as Eco-Club Captain and he/she will act according to the directions of the Faculty In charge and coordinate the activities with the members.
  • One Faculty in the College has to be identified as Faculty-in-charge.
  • The Faculty shall be responsible for execution of this programme in the college, maintain accounts and submit utilization reports, activity reports supported with photographs/ newspaper clips etc. to the Institutional Head

GUIDELINES:

  • Eco-Club may undertake any activity related to improvement of the environment.
  • The college Eco-club may take up any activity of their choice depending on their local conditions and course of action.
  • Organize eco-competitions on organic farming, seminars, debates, painting, essay, slogan writing etc.
  • Action based activities like tree plantation, cleanliness drives both within and outside the college campus.
  • The students are encouraged to Grow kitchen gardens and conduct awareness programs.
  • Celebrate meaningfully the International, National and State environment calendar days like Earth Day, Water Day World Environment Day etc.
  • Club members must follow directions given by the faculty or group leader.
  • Members must be respectful of others.
  • Members must always remain with a faculty or group leader unless given permission to do otherwise by the faculty or group leader.
  • The Committee shall conduct meeting once in 2 months and minutes of the same should be written by the student in charge.
