Community Health Nursing

Overview

The Community Health Nursing department of the college was established in the year 2005. Department is involved in imparting regular health education to the public of the rural & urban areas, in guiding UG/PG research projects of students and research consultancy.

The department was initially involved in training the students of college of nursing in the outreach areas of Adat PHC under Tholur CHC. Now the services are extended to Anakkara, Chittatukara, Thanaveedhi, Parampanthali, Elavally PHC, under Mullassery CHC and  Urban Centre in Padukkad. The department actively participates in extension activities like nutritional demonstration, school health programmes, individual and group health educations, observation visits, involved in other national health programmes and health camps. Students are being involved in regular palliative care activities to the nearby rural and urban areas. PG students are fully engaged in conducting community oriented research projects.  

At present the department includes qualified staffs who are fully involved  in training students in Community  Health Nursing in promoting health and preventing illness.
