I am Asha Sandra Thomas, former B.Sc. Nursing student of Amala College of Nursing- 2006 batch. I finished my nursing course with 1 year of internship in 2012. It was a long academic journey and I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for all the efforts taken by the principal and the educators of Amala college of Nursing. Myself and my classmates unanimously agree that the faculty members in the Amala college were dedicated, compassionate, resourceful, exceptional and they work as a team for the development of the individual student. The knowledge and the experience I gained from the college improved my confidence level and leadership skills.
Soon after my graduation, I did my IELTS course and I migrated to Australia in 2014 with my family. It was not a big challenge for me to find a RN job here in Australia as I was very confident with my theoretical and practical nursing. In Amala, we are taught in such a way, that we know the rationale of what we are doing and why we are doing it in that particular situation. I also take this opportunity to acknowledge the vast practical experience I gained by looking after the patients in the multispecialty Amala hospital.
Currently I work as Clinical Nurse Educator in Queensland ,Australia. I always visualise the qualities I have seen in the teachers of Amala, and I am on the process of becoming a good educator.
Once again I thank all the teaching and non-teaching staffs of Amala College of Nursing and I want to proudly say “Yes I am an Amala product”
