Overview
The department of Medical Surgical Nursing aims to impart expertise and indepth knowledge to students in providing holistic care to adult patients. The department inculcates critical thinking skills to students to function as a medical surgical nurse and also in performing the extended roles of educator manager and researcher. The training methodology adopted includes simulation, skill training and OSCE session. The department also engages in research both at student and faculty level.
Objectives
- To equip the students with knowledge and skill in proving holistic nursing care to adults with various medical and surgical disorders.
- To incorporate evidence based nursing practice and identify areas of research in field of medical surgical nursing.
- To keep abreast with the various recent technologies and treatment modalities in management of critically ill adult patients.
- To enhance a sense of community responsibility while participating in disaster management process.
